A collaborative journey in carpet design and installation

March 2025

The MS Artania, a renowned cruise ship owned by Phoenix Reisen, recently underwent a significant upgrade with the installation of new, custom-designed carpets throughout the ship. This project was a collaborative effort between Phoenix Reisen, interior architects CUBIK³, and Dansk Wilton.

Collaboration and design development
The success of this project hinged on the seamless collaboration of all parties involved. As with any refit, numerous challenges arose on board—from working within existing parameters to addressing functionality issues—all while striving to create fresh, modern interiors. With this is mind, the design team worked closely with Dansk Wilton and Phoenix Reisen, to ensure the new carpets aligned perfectly with the ship’s existing and new design concepts and fulfilled all. Open communication and a cooperative working style were integral to this process, fostering an environment where ideas could be freely exchanged and refined.

A beautiful outcome
The result of this collaboration is a series of beautifully crafted carpets that enhance the existing interior of the MS Artania, as well as appealing to new interior experiences for the guests. This project stands as a reflection of effective teamwork and the shared commitment to quality by Phoenix Reisen, Dansk Wilton and CUBIK³.
